GABE
Gabe started a store in his preteen ministry space that raised money for an orphanage in Mexico. The store became a lasting legacy, continuing for many years after Gabe’s time as a Champion. In this picture, Gabe is wearing a shirt he designed and sold at the store to support the cause.
COOPER
Cooper brought creativity to life by designing and building room and stage décor that matched monthly lesson themes. In the picture, you can see a motorized prop Cooper built for the "Secret Identity" series—a figure whose eyes glance back and forth every few seconds, showcasing Cooper’s innovative design skills.
LIANA & AUDREY
Liana and Aubrey developed a memorization game board to help preteens learn Bible verses. They went above and beyond by creating verse printouts and using their own money to purchase prizes, making Scripture memorization fun and rewarding for everyone.
OTHNEIL
Othneil started "Believers BBQs," a Saturday gathering on his family’s property where families from the church enjoyed fellowship, food, and devotionals that he led. These events brought people together in a relaxed setting to grow in faith and community.
MACYLYNN
Macylynn wrote and directed a musical performed by preteens at the church. Her creativity and leadership brought a story of faith to life on stage, inspiring the performers and the audience alike.
THE TEAM
A team of Champions worked together to organize a Monday after-school service each week, drawing 20-30 preteens for worship, teaching, and fellowship. Through collaboration and leadership, this group created a space where preteens could grow in their faith and build lasting connections.
10 Months of Purposeful Leadership Development:
Months 01-02
Foundations
Preteens begin by laying the spiritual and practical groundwork for leadership. Through engaging lessons and skill-building activities, they learn what it means to step into ministry with humility, boldness, and a reliance on God. They also identify and begin to address potential hindrances like fear, shame, and preconceived ideas.
Month 03
Direction
Preteens shift their focus to discerning God’s unique calling for them. Through prayer, reflection, and Scripture study, they explore how God might want to work in and through them in their church. This month sets the stage for dreaming big while staying grounded in God’s purpose.
Month 04
Planning
Preteens take their ideas and turn them into actionable ministry plans. They work through a structured process to be able to present their ministry plans and get approval from ministry leaders within your church. By the end of the month, they’re ready to start implementing their plans.
Months 05-06
Launching
With their ministry plans approved, preteens launch into action. These months are focused on implementing their ministries while receiving ongoing guidance and evaluation. Through hands-on leadership, they learn to navigate challenges, adapt to changing needs, and rely on God for strength and direction.
Month 07
Sabbatical
Preteens take a pause from active ministry leadership to reflect, recharge, and seek renewed inspiration from God. This intentional break provides space to evaluate their ministry efforts, celebrate successes, and dream bigger for the future. Through prayer, guided reflection, and creative brainstorming, they prepare to return to their ministries with fresh energy and vision.
Months 08-09
Refining
Preteens return to their ministries with fresh vision and renewed purpose. Building on insights from re-evaluation, they refine their approach and continue to lead with confidence. Ongoing evaluation ensures they’re learning and growing as leaders.
Month 10
Celebration
The journey concludes with a look back at everything the preteens have accomplished and learned. Together, they reflect on God’s faithfulness, celebrate the impact of their ministries, and look ahead to how God might continue to use them in the future. A special celebration caps off the program, recognizing their hard work and faithfulness.
